FAQ
Banner doesn't load for the recipient
Image blocking in mail clients and what you can do about it.
Banner doesn't load for the recipient
This is normal and known to every email marketer.
Why?
Outlook desktop blocks all remote images by default โ for security reasons. Other clients (Gmail mobile, Apple Mail) may also have image blocking on.
The recipient then sees:
- A gray square or broken-image icon
- An empty space
- The alt text
What MailManagers does
- We host your banner on our own CDN with fast load times
- We set proper alt text for accessibility
- We send images via HTTPS (required by modern mail clients)
What the recipient can do
They can mark your sender address as "trusted" or click "Show images" โ after that, future mails load images automatically.
What you can do
- Never put critical info ONLY in a banner โ a banner is an "extra", not the message itself
- Use banners for call-to-action, not for crucial data
- Use clear alt text (e.g. "Spring sale: 20% off") so even with blocked images the message comes through
Statistics impact
If Statistics shows low view counts, that means: many recipients don't load your images. Real reach is higher โ clicks are the better KPI for measuring campaign impact.
